Every week, we visit our chiropractor. She's about thirty-five minutes away from our house (but she's awesome, so it's totally worth the drive). Our appointments are in the morning and we usually have a long day ahead of us after our visit ends. A few weeks ago, I decided to be
We decided to stop by Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead - one of our favorite things to do with toddlers in Kansas City - because it's only a short distance from the chiropractic office. And, honestly? It went surprisingly well. Lincoln has come a long way in his ability to listen - aka not run off into a parking lot - this year, and while we had a few trying moments, altogether they both were cooperative and excited about their chance to do something outside the "norm."
Lincoln and Addie got to ring some cowbells and find out what it feels like to milk a cow.
We rode mini tractors, watched a blacksmith work, counted cows, waved at goats, and sat on every swinging bench we could find.
Their favorite part was probably the time spent running wild on the playground. Lincoln has no fear of new experiences anymore, and he threw himself down every slide he could find multiple times.
Addie is a little more tenacious when it comes to exploring, as evidenced in the photo below.
She thought she might be brave enough to go down the big red barn slides with Lincoln, but I was pretty sure she would get to the top of the stairs and freak out, so she grumpily waited with me while Lincoln rode the slides over and over again.
I'm not sure how often I will attempt outings like this one with two kids under age four...but this time, anyway, it was a success! If you're in the Kansas City area, plan a trip to Deanna Rose! It's free Monday-Thursday and only $2 on the weekend. Totally worth it.
