We were invited to the campus of College of the Ozarks for breakfast at The Keeter Center with the other bloggers who were in town to explore Branson during our family vacation. It was an early morning and the kids were grumpy, but we managed to make it (close to) on time.
College of the Ozarks was established in 1906 and features a fantastic system that allows students to work while they attend college (and during the summer) to pay for their tuition. COFO students graduate debt free - and that's impressive in our current culture! My best friend actually graduated from this school a few years ago, and I have very fond memories of the trips I made to Branson to visit her while she was there!
While we dined, we learned more about Branson tourism (did you know it's one of Trip Advisor's Top 25 Cities in America?), and were thoroughly embarrassed as our kids did their best to dump orange juice on the wooden table and throw eggs on the floor. Oh, parenting.
In spite of having to keep toddlers under control, we had a great experience. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Our server brought us special cups for the kids (with straws) after Lincoln's nearly-disastrous juice incident. The Keeter Center is the onsite restaurant and hotel at College of the Ozarks, and they offer farm-to-table meals every day of the week, plus a Sunday brunch from 10am - 2pm. Reservations are recommended, as they are popular!
I'm happy to know there is a source for eating delicious, local food while touring Branson! I would love to visit again and have the chance to check out the full menu. You can find out more about College of the Ozarks and The Keeter Center here - plus make sure you are following on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest updates!
