iPhone Tip: Are You Using Your Emoji Keyboard?

I spend a lot of time on Instagram. This week, I learned something that is so fun: how to type those little icons or symbols or emoticons or - what they are actually called - emoji.

Social media has always been about photos for me, so it's (in my oh-so-humble opinion) quite possibly the best network out there. In my stalking casual observance of Instagram users, it seems frequent that these cute little Emoji appear. It's probably totally common knowledge and I'm sure I'm not astounding anyone with my wit here, but I'm so excited that I figured out how to use them that I have to share.

My iPhone 4S apparently came with a built-in collection of Emoji. I assume other models have them as well. Here's how to access them!

-Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Add New Keyboard
-Select the "Emoji" Keyboard

Yeah. It's that simple! Once you have enabled the keyboard, click on the globe icon whenever you are typing something on your iPhone. This will give you the option to switch between your keyboard options - so you can add all the cute little characters you wish.

Before I realized that it was so ridiculously simple, I had downloaded a free app that featured some Emoji icons and perhaps someday I'll experiment with adding more options. For now, I'm perfectly content with the included collection.
